SHIRO KASAMATSU

(1898-1991)

Shiro Kasamatsu was born at Asakusa, Tokyo. He became a pupil of Kiyotaka Kaburagi.
His first woodblock prints appeared in the year of 1919 and 1920,
a considerable number having been produced before the earthquake of 1923.
In the years following he has produced many fine prints.
And he started engraving and printing by himself after 1955 when making his prints.
He had been working actively just before he passed away in 1991.

These prints were published by Watanabe publisher and Unsodo.
