Hiru Sagari (Early afternoon)


We are very pleased to be able to offer this extremely rare woodblock print "Hiru Sagari"(Early afternoon) by Sentaro Iwata (born 1967). This print was published in 1976 by Mainichi Shinbun Sha (Famous Japanese Newspaper company). Limited edition only 480. But no number. Publisher is "Adachi"publisher. Excellent condition, Full margins. Once tipped to presentation folder. It has original presentation folder. You can see creasing on the right margin and a little bit right edge of image, almost easily matted out. Please see the picture. Paper size is 11 and 5/8 inches x 16 and 5/8 inches.  Artist sign and red seal in lower right of image. Sentaro Iwata was born in Asakusa, Toyko. He studied with Ito Shinsui and later worked as an illustrator. Mainly bijin (beautiful women) woodblock prints are known by the artist. Tatsumi Shimura and Sentaro Iwata were the most famous rivals. Very beautiful Bijin print.
