"Yayoi"



We are very pleased to be able to offer this extremely rare Mezzotint etching by Japanese artist Ushio Takahashi (born 1944). "Yayoi", Limited Edition 50/75, printed 1983. This is pencil signed by the artist and titled in Japanese by the artist. Paper has deeply embossed seal "Ushio Takahashi". Limited edition size of only 75 sheets. This is sheet 50 of 75. Limited Edition paper measures 17 and 5/8 inches wide by 17 and 1/2 inches tall. Large size. Good condition. Extremely minor some pinpoint size foxing or ink smudges on the margins and extremely faint creasing on the lower right corner and upper left corner, and extremely slight mat burn which are very hardly noticeable and will be easily mat out.  A few very faint brown spots on the face but hardly noticeable. Please see the pictures. This print is extremely rare. He used Mezzotint technique and silkscreen technique both. Also he exhibited this print at famous exhibition "Shunyo- ten, 1983". Please see superb details in this print. Truly beautiful colors and lovely her expression. His prints are in the collctions of several Japanese and Korean museums.
