"Nara Yakushiji"(Yakushiji Temple, Nara) by Kawase Hasui (1883-1957). First printed 1951 ( Showa 26 nen); this is a later printing from original blocks. Signed Hasui with red artist seal "Sui".  New condition, never framed and full margins. A few faint ink smudge on the right margin and  upper left corner. This print does not meet our normal quality standards. Natural paper winkle on the upper right of image which is very hardly noticeable unless point out. I think this is not effect image. Published by Watanabe with 7 mm and Watanabe "Heisei" Seal. Very wonderful "Bokashi" shading through print with finely carved details. Old master quality. Paper size is 10 and 1/4 inches by 15 and 5/8 inches.  Very Japanese mood, very beautiful snow scene.  A true classic Hasui print of the highest order.

The quality, colors and exquisite nature these Japanese woodblock prints can not be fully appreciated with these inferior pictures. The colors on the print are a bit stronger, bold and more exciting.
