"Kohan no Ame - Matsue-" (Rain by Lakeside, Matsue) by Kawase Hasui (1883 - 1957). This print was first published in 1932. This is a later edition printed from original blocks by the original publisher. The 7 mm Watanabe seal is located near right edge of image and red "Heisei" seal in right margin. Signed Hasui with red artist seal "Sui" in lower left of image. Left margin is title in Japanese and in lower left margin is date "Showa 7 nen 2 gatsu saku" (Printed February 1932). Pristine condition, never framed and full margins. Very tiny ink smudge on the lower left bottom margin corner. Paper size is 10 and 1/2 inches high by 15 and 1/2 inches wide. Very peaceful rainy scene.
