"Fuyacho no Mise" (Store in Fuyacho)
by Katsuyuki Nishijima

"Fuyacho no Mise" (Store in Fuyacho) by Katsuyuki Nishijima.  This store is very famous "Tofu" store "Yubahan" since 1716 in Funacho, Kyoto. Noren cloth says "Yubahan"(store name).  From my own private collection comes this very early work, We believe never before offered to the public. Ca: 1973. Pristine condition, never framed. Hand signed in pencil,  hand titled in Japanese in the bottom margin, and hand numbered limited edition  219/500 by the artist.  With artist official red seal "Nishijima". Now very hard to find his old prints.  Large size: Width is 18 and 1/4 inches and height is 13 and 1/2 inches.  Please note size is a little larger that his later prints. Nishijima started offering prints in 1972; this is the 14th subject he produced. Sorry but we have only this one rare copy to offer.

Wonderful details with strong excellent bold colors and strong ink bleed through. Some ink smudges which is very typical this artist. Some minor foxing into margins (almost edge of paper) and very minor creasing on the margins from character of this paper. They are vey common and will be easily mat out. Please see pictures very carefully. Genuine handmade Japanese woodblock print.  This is 500 sheet limited edition by Katsuyuki Nishijima who was born 1945 in Yamaguchi, Japan.
