"Horikawa no Machiya " (Along Street of Horikawa) by Katsuyuki
Nishijima. From my own private collection comes this very early work, never
before offered to the public. Ca: 1973. Pristine condition, never
framed. Hand numbered, titled in Japanese and signed by the artist
in pencil on the bottom margin. With Nishijimafs official; red seal (shima).
Limited edition 229/500. Large size: Width is 18 and 1/4 inches
and height is 13 and 1/2 inches. Please note size is a little larger
that his later prints. Nishijima started offering prints in 1972; this
is the twenty-second subject he produced. Sorry but we have only this one
rare copy to offer.
Wonderful details with strong excellent bold colors
and strong ink bleed through. There is some minor pinpoint foxing extremely deep
into the margin which is easily matted out, Small ink smudges upper margin which
is very typical this artist. Please see pictures carefully. Genuine handmade
Japanese woodblock print. This is 500 sheet limited edition by Katsuyuki
Nishijima who was born 1945 in Yamaguchi, Japan.
The quality, colors and
exquisite nature these Japanese woodblock prints can not be fully appreciated
with these inferior pictures. The colors on the print are a bit stronger, bold
and more exciting. More pictures gladly supplied on request. Buyers of these
prints will not be disappointed. These prints will provide you with years of
pleasure and pride of ownership.
