"Peony and Woman, No. 9" comes from our own private collection. Most often found in monochrome only, this polychrome edition is seldom seen. We are extremely proud to be able to offer this print for your consideration. Limited Edition silkscreen "Botan to Onna" (Peony and Woman, No. 9) is dated 1981. Hand titled, numbered, signed and dated by the artist in pencil in lower margin. With artist’s official red seal. We think one of Kojima’s best works. The shading of the eyes, lips, breast and peony have been individually hand applied by the artist. Each little black dot in the wave has been meticulously hand painted by the artist herself. Please note also the masterful graduation of colors in the background. Highly technical, precise and demanding work expertly accomplished.  Printed on the finest thick French paper. Large paper size is 15.5 inches wide by 21.5 inches tall with the image being 11.0 inches wide by 16.5 inches tall. Perfect in every respect. We can only note on faint speck very high in the upper center margin and one minute paint drop deep into the lower left margin. Both will easily mat out when framed. Never framed. Limited edition of only 39 sheets. This is Limited Edition print 23/39.
