"Go Go Koinobori" Taro

"Go Go Koinobori (Taro)" by Kunio Kaneko.  "Koinobori" is carp shaped flag. "Koi nobori" is most often see on "Tango-no-Sekku" (Boy's Festival) when a carp is flown for each son in the family, a very large one for the eldest, the others ranging down in size. "Taro" is most traditional Japanese male name. Artist seal:"KUNI" Hand signed and titled in pencil by artist, limited edition number 5/155. Very low number print. Dated 2008. Paper size is 15 and 1/4 inches wide by 10 and 5/8 inches tall. Very strong colors, typical ink bleed through, never framed. Pristine condition. A few extremely slight ink smudge on the bottom margin which will be easily mat out. Kunio Kaneko was born in Tokyo in 1949, Kunio Kaneko graduated from the Musashino University of Fine Arts. He has had several solo shows in Tokyo and Kanagawa and one in the Westroom Gallery in New York. His works also has been part of group shows in Tokyo , Kyoto, Chiba and Kanagawa as well as in Seoul, Korea.
