A rare design original limited edition by Koichi Maeda who was born in
Tokyo in 1936. "SHIOKAZE NO FUKU TANATA" (The rice field which
sea breeze blows) seldom every seen offered for sale. This rice field
is called "Tanata". "Tanata" is a terraced rice field
which is prepared on steep hill or mountain sides. "Tanata" are
labor intensive to build and maintain. This is a large format Limited Edition
17/80 woodblock print dated '04. Numbered 17/80, titled, signed, and dated
'04 in bottom margin in pencil by the artist. Very Large size: 24 and 5/8
inches by 18 and 3/4 inches. It is in pristine condition with full margins,
bold colors and never framed. Strong texture on thick Japanese washi paper.
Bright and lively, full of light and wonderful colors with the precision
and details characteristic of this artist. Extremely tiny brown ink drop
into lower left of image which is very common. Limited edition of
only 80 prints. Low number print. Sought after as collector's item rarely
offered outside of Japan. This beautiful handmade print brings tranquility
and relaxation into any room. Maeda's blue and green are truly beautiful
and impressive.
