This print is handprinted recarved edition of Chikanobu Kano's Suiboku-ga (Brush painting with Sumi ink) "FLOWER AND BIRD". Chikanobu, the first son of Tsunenobu Kano, was born 1660. He was a member of the Kano group, one of leading schools of Japanese artists in the edo period, and lived as a shogunate-patronized painter. Genuine Japanese handmade woodblock print. New Condition. painting) is brush paintings executed in black sumi ink. Lines are produced in
delicate shadings with a brush applied in different directions, at varying
speeds and angles, and with varying pressure. In their simplicity these strokes

beauty.
