This fine handmade print from the 1987 was in a collection of very fine
art we purchased from a well to do estate in Hiroshima. As found condition.
We have practically no knowledge of Chinese prints or paintings as they
are outside our area of study. This print has very strong emboss on very
unusual paper. Zhang Baibo was born in Chingdao in China. Apart from woodblock
prints, he uses an innovative technique where he carves an engraving on
plates of plaster. It creates a relief effect. He participated "100
Views of Eternal China" project. Zhang Baibo has exhibited widely
in China and abroad among others in the United States, Australia, Japan
(1982: Kanagawa Prefecture Art Museum), Canada, France, Germany and India.
His pastel colors and the tender designs with relief effect appeal much
to Western art lovers. If one of our bidders has additional information
we will be happy to add. We have been told title is "Dance" This
is limited edition sheet 59 of 200. Hand numbered, titled, signed and dated
(1987) by the artist. A few minor foxing into bottom margin. Paper
size is 19 inches by 17 and 1/2inches. Please see pictures.
