"Janome" (Umbrella) this extremely rare woodblock by Tatsumi
Shimura (1907-1980). "Janome" is an oiled -paper umbrella with
a bull's -eye design. This umbrella is very traditional Japanese umbrella. Limited Edition 176 of 200. This print has very
seldom been seen outside of Japan. It was second time to see this print. Extremely hard to find.
This limited edition print is numbered 176 of 200. Carver; Kentaro Maeda,
Printer; Ritsuzo Sato, and Publisher; Yuyudo. Carver name and printer name on the lower right margin. Artist signature
and personal seal located in lower right of image. Large red "Tatsumi
Kenin" seal in lower right margin reads, "Tatsumi seal of approval". Size is large: paper size is 19 inches by 16 and 1/8 inches. Colors are
vivid and vibrant and in layers. Lightly embossed. Absolutely stunning
original hand Japanese made woodblock print. Pristine condition. Rarely do we find Tatsumi prints in this perfect condition.
