"OOKAWABATA"
(Riverside) this extremely rare woodblock by Tatsumi Shimura (1907-1980). Limited
Edition 71 of 200. Framed. Rarely seen in Japan and nearly impossible
to find outside of Japan as Tatsumi prints are extremely rare, highly cherished
in Japan and seldom sold. Tatsumi specialized in bijin ga - prints
of beautiful women. He is most famous for his series "Five Figures
of Modern Beauties". This limited edition print is numbered 71 of
200. Only 200 were published. Carver; Kentaro Maeda, Printer; Ritsuzo Sato,
and Publisher; Yuyudo & Ichimai No E Company (Art magazine publisher).
Size is large: Frame size is 24 and 1/2 x 22 and 1/4 inches. Absolutely
stunning original hand made Japanese woodblock print. This beautiful
rare print comes with a custom wooden original when first sold Japanese
frame. This frame is very high quality. On back of frame has
original as issued information tag. Additional pictures gladly provided
upon request. There are excellent examples of Tatsumi's work at
theTokyoNational Modern

Museum. Excellent condition, extremely tiny few foxing that is nearly impossible to see. One must be very close under bright light to see. Not noticeable to the casual observer. Tatsumi's woodblock prints price went up higher very quick after his 100 year exhibition in Tokyo in January 2007.
